 Children have a way of making the world look greater and easier to live in than we adults
make it out to be.
At a sleep over for mothers and their children I had the pleasure of speaking with a four year
old about God. Here is her response, and the reality that opened my eyes to see and recognize what can come out of the mouths
of babes.
She asked me if I knew God. "Of course, I replied". She told me she saw him every day. I asked "When do
you see him? she said, "God is the sky. That's how he covers the world and, the sun and the moon are his face looking down
on us".
Never had I looked for God and now for the first time I can look to him and see him in a different light,
knowing I'm covered, because just like the sky God is always there.
Only out of the mouths of babes can we find innocence
so natural and reassuring, to be able to see from their eyes and view from their perspective.
